If an image for a topic did not exist under a usable license, this site uses an icon or a text-only layout instead of a stock stand-in.

How these licenses work
Every photograph above is published under a Creative Commons license. Those licenses allow reuse, including on commercial sites, as long as the original author is credited, the license is linked, and any changes are described. This page exists to meet those conditions in one place, rather than crowding captions across the site.
- CC BY requires attribution only: credit the author, link the license, and note any modifications.
- CC BY-SA adds a share-alike condition: a modified version, such as the cropped social sharing card, is released under the same license.
- Resizing, cropping, and converting to WebP or JPEG count as modifications, so each change is listed next to the image it applies to.
Crediting a photographer does not mean they endorse this site, a service provider, or any advice given here. If you are the author of an image shown on this page and believe it is credited incorrectly, or you would like it removed, use the contact page and it will be corrected or taken down.
Images deliberately not used
A short photo library is a choice, not an oversight. These categories were reviewed and rejected:
- Product photos of dehumidifiers and appliances with European plugs, which do not represent equipment used here.
- Street-works and utility photos taken in the United Kingdom, which carry the wrong vehicles, signage, and context.
- Disaster photography with identifiable destruction, debris, or worse — including hurricane aftermath imagery.
- Stock-style photos of unmarked vans, technicians, and clipboards, which imply a crew this site does not have.
- Anything containing third-party branding, phone numbers, or license plates.
